Add Digital Resource 3D

This workflow allows you to upload and link a 3D model to an existing (O) Context resource in your database. It is designed to take a 3D model package (specifically 3D Tiles format) and automatically create a new Digital Resource, linking it directly to a parent resource of your choosing.

Step 1: Select Resource

The first step requires you to choose the parent resource that your new 3D model will be linked to.

  • Search for a Resource: Use the "Search resources..." input bar at the top to filter available resources by name.
  • Select a Resource: The available resources are displayed as clickable cards in a grid layout. Click on the card of the resource you wish to use.
  • Confirm Selection: Once clicked, the card will be highlighted in blue with a checkmark in the top right corner. A green "Selected:" confirmation box will also appear at the top of the screen displaying the name of your chosen resource.

Step 2: Add 3D Model

Once your parent resource is selected, you will move on to uploading the actual 3D model file and defining its basic details.

  • Upload the File: In the designated dropzone panel, you can either drag and drop your file or click the "Choose ZIP or 3TZ file…" button.
    • Note: The system strictly accepts 3D Tiles packaged in either .zip or .3tz formats.
  • Name the Model: In the settings section below the upload area, type the desired name for your new 3D resource into the "Model name:" text field.
  • Submit: Once the file is queued and the name is entered, click the blue "Upload 3D Model" button at the bottom of the section to process the upload.

Step 3: Summary

After a successful upload, you will be brought to the final Summary screen.

  • Confirmation: You will see a green success checkmark and a "3D model added successfully!" message.
  • View your Resource: You can immediately inspect your newly created Digital Resource by clicking the blue "View Resource" button. This will open the new resource's dedicated page in a new browser tab.
