Assign Coordinate System
This workflow allows you to link an existing Local Coordinate Reference System (CRS) to one or multiple digital resources (such as IIIF images or 3D models) in your database.
Step 1: Select Local CRS
The first step requires you to choose the specific Coordinate Reference System you want to assign.
- Search for a CRS: Use the "Search CRS definitions..." input bar at the top to filter available coordinate systems by name.
- Select a Single CRS: Click on the card of the CRS you wish to use. Because you can only assign one CRS at a time, selecting a new card will deselect any previous choice.
- Confirm Selection: The chosen card will be highlighted, and a green confirmation box will appear at the top displaying the selected CRS name.

Step 2: Select Resources
Next, you will choose which digital resources the selected CRS should be assigned to.
- Search for Resources: Use the "Search IIIF and 3D resources..." input bar to find the specific digital resources you want to update.
- Select Multiple Resources: Unlike the previous step, you can select multiple resources here. Click on as many resource cards as you need; each selected card will be highlighted with a checkmark.
- Selection Tracking: The system will keep track of how many resources you have selected at the top of the screen.

Step 3: Summary & Confirmation
The final step provides a summary of your choices before making any changes to the database.
- Review CRS Details: The page will display the CRS name and a list of its parameters (e.g., origin and direction coordinates) so you can verify it is the correct system.
- Review Selected Resources: You will see the total count of resources selected. You can click the "▸ Selected resources" dropdown arrow to expand and view the exact names of all the resources you chose in Step 2.
- Confirm and Assign: Once you have verified the details, click the blue "Confirm and assign" button.
- Status: A status message ("Assigning...") will appear, followed by a green success message (or red error message) once the database has been updated.
